Fortuna Düsseldorf: "Shirt sales have doubled thanks to our free admission policy" (Alexander Jobst)

"After the first season of our 'Fortuna fur alle' (Fortuna for everyone) policy, which included three matches with free admission to the stadium in 2023-24, we have already seen positive impact of this new strategy: a new all-time membership record with over 30,000 members, merchandise and sales are up 44%, with shirt sales having doubled. Finally, the volume of sponsorship revenue has increased by 45% compared to last season," said Alexander Jobst, CEO of Fortuna Düsseldorf (2. Bundesliga), to News Tank Football on 15/05/2024.

"From our post-gameday survey we know that over 80% of people who never come or rarely come to our games and have been to one of our free admission games say that they will come back, even if they have to pay," added the CEO of the third-placed club in the 2.Bundesliga, who will face the 16^th-placed Bundesliga side in a promotion/relegation play-off on 23 and 27/05/2024.
