DFL: a documentary series on 5 clubs fighting to avoid relegation from the 2023-24 Bundesliga

Deutsche Fußball Liga is producing the documentary series "Relegation Rollercoaster", which follows five clubs struggling to stay in the Bundesliga in the second half of the 2023-24 season, announced the German body on 14/05/2024.

The six-part series follows the five teams who were in or near the relegation zone at the end of the first half of the season: 1. FC Union Berlin, VfL Bochum, 1. FC Heidenheim 1846, 1. FC Köln and FSV Mainz 05. The series will be available in five languages and will be made available to the German league's partner broadcasters.

"The camera follows the teams closely, revealing what makes the Bundesliga unique and why the fight for the championship it isn't only story that stirs emotions; the relegation battle, frequently a show of remarkable athletic achievements, is equally captivating. Thanks to its close cooperation partnership with the clubs and their active support, the DFL has been able to capture very special and exclusive insights for its in-house production," explained the DFL.
