FIFA: Brazil chosen to host the Women's World Cup 2027 over Belgium-Germany-Netherlands

Brazil will host the 10^th Women's World Cup in 2027, after being named as the host country at the 74^th FIFA Congress in Bangkok, Thailand, on 17/05/2024. Representatives of FIFA's 211 member associations chose the Brazilian bid (119 votes) over the joint bid submitted by Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands (78 votes).

This is the first time that the FIFA Congress has been asked to decide on the organisers of a Women's World Cup. The last edition was held in Australia (AFC) and New Zealand (OFC) in 2023.

China (twice), Sweden, the United States (twice), Germany, Canada and France have hosted the previous eight editions. 2027 will be the first time that a Women's World Cup has been staged in South America.

Brazil's bid scored higher (an average of 4 out of 5) than its rival bid (3.7) according to the technical evaluation published on 07/05/2024.

The United States and Mexico, initially joint bidders to host the Women's World Cup 2027, announced their withdrawal on 29/04/2024 in order to "focus" on the 2031 event.
