France/Arcom: 25 applications selected for 15 DTT frequencies, public hearing from 08 to 17/07/2024

Arcom has approved 25 applications (out of 27 received) for 15 national DTT frequencies, announced the French Regulatory Authority for Audiovisual and Digital Communication on 22/05/2024. The applicants will now be invited to a public hearing between 08 and 17/07/2024.

The process concerns the frequencies currently occupied by the following channels:
• C8, CNews, CStar, Canal+, Canal+ Sport, Canal+ Cinéma and Planète+ (Canal+ Group)
• TMC, TFX, LCI (TF1 Group)
• W9, Gulli, Paris Première (M6 Group)
• NRJ 12 (NRJ Group)
• BFM TV (Altice Media, a subsidiary of Altice France whose acquisition by CMA CGM was completed in March 2024, see below)

All the current channels occupying these frequencies have applied to keep them, while nine new applications have been submitted: BATV (Je suis), OF TV (Ouest-France), RéelsTV (CMI France), L'Express TV (Express TV), OP TV (Ombre Première), Le Média TV (SCIC Le Média), Mieux (Media Santé Info TV), La Chaîne Histoire and Humour TV (Programmes Européens Francophones Audiovisuels).
