"I'm not against the principle of having a commercial company for the Ligue de Football Professionnel, which would allow it to be more agile in negotiations. This avoids the need for time-consuming checks and authorisations. But what kind of control does the League have over its commercial company (LFP Media)? It's obvious that having a 99-year agreement (with CVC Capital Partners) is going too far, especially for a League where the crisis is even more acute than for other European entities," said Jaume Roures, former president of the Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro, during his public hearing before the French Senate's fact-finding mission on the involvement of investment funds in French professional football on 22/05/2024.
