French Senate: "Making clubs aware of the need to maintain the value of TV rights" (J-M. Mickeler)

"We have been making the clubs aware of the need to work on a central scenario with the TV rights' value maintained, minus the 13% for CVC. More than a third of our players will be coming to the end of their contract at the end of the 2023-24 season, and since the clubs' wage bills are the biggest item of expenditure, this will also be a lever to have an impact on the presentation of the 2024-25 budget," said Jean-Marc Mickeler, president of the DNCG, during his public hearing before the French Senate's fact-finding mission on the involvement of investment funds in French professional football, on 23/05/2024.
