2023-24 Europa Conference League: Olympiakos claim 1^st European title for a Greek club

Olympiakos FC (Stoiximan Super League) won the 2023-24 Europa League following their 1-0 victory (after extra time) over ACF Fiorentina (Serie A TIM) at the AEK Arena in Athens (Greece) on Wednesday 29/05/2024.

This victory in the competition created by UEFA in 2021-22 marks the first European trophy for a Greek club. Olympiakos succeeds AS Roma (Serie A TIM), who won the inaugural edition of the competition, and previous champions West Ham United FC (Premier League). The Greek club has now added to its record 47 league titles and 28 domestic cup wins, making it the most successful club in the country.

Thanks to this title, Olympiakos, 44^th in the UEFA coefficient rankings over the past five years and 30^th over the last 10 years, therefore qualifies for the 2024-25 Europa League. The club will receive €2m from UEFA for their victory, which will add to the €3m paid for reaching the final and other payments related to their European campaign, for a total of almost €15m.
