RC Lens: "Solid financial management despite TV rights worries" (J. Oughourlian)

"As far as TV rights are concerned, like all French clubs, we are worried. I don't have any more information. We have always taken a conservative approach to drawing up our budgets. We have a very solid and conservative financial department. For next year's budget, we have positioned ourselves on similar rights to those we had in 2023-24," said Joseph Oughourlian, president of RC Lens (Ligue 1), on 03/06/2024.

Oughourlian, who owns a majority stake in the club through his Luxembourg company Solferino, was speaking as part of the announcement of the appointments of Pierre Dreossi as the club's new managing director, following the departure of Arnaud Pouille, and Benjamin Parrot as deputy managing director.

"We believe that the Stade Bollaert-Delelis should be brought back to the club for a number of reasons. We've been through some very difficult times with the crisis. If we'd had an asset like Bollaert it would have helped with the finances. It's on hold because we haven't put any money aside and so, if the question is: do we have the financial capacity?
