MLS: Tom Glick named president of NYCFC, replaces Tim Pernetti, who moves to WME/IMG

The Englishman Tom Glick has been named the president of the MLS (Major League Soccer, USA-CAN) expansion franchise New York City FC, the club announced on 29/01/2015. NYCFC will play its debut match in MLS on 08/03/2015.

Tom Glick will become the first president of the club, and replace the role of Tim Pernetti as chief business officer. Tim Pernetti will leave NYCFC to become the president of multimedia for university sports in the USA for the sports and entertainment talent and media rights conglomerate WME/IMG (William Morris Entertainment / International Management Group).

Tom Glick will take up his position on 01/02/2015, and will report to the Spainard Ferran Soriano, the managing director of NYCFC and the head of the global football conglomerate City Football Group.
