Los Angeles 2028: Reynold Hoover, former lieutenant general in the US army, appointed CEO

Reynold Hoover (63) has been appointed chief executive officer of the Los Angeles 2028 Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games on 05/06/2024, four years and one month before the opening ceremony of the Summer Games in California (USA). He will take up his post on 10/06/2024.

Hoover succeeds former American footballer Kathy Carter, who resigned on 18/12/2023. She had been appointed CEO of LA28 in September 2021 under the leadership of chair and president Casey Wasserman.

Reynold Hoover is a veteran of the US Army and National Guard (retired in 2018), having notably achieved the rank of lieutenant general. During his career, he oversaw the logistics of the Joint Sustainment Command in Afghanistan in 2009 and 2010, after holding senior positions at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in 2002 and 2003. He was also Special Assistant for Homeland Security to former US President George W. Bush between 2003 and 2005.
