Euro 2024: France, England & Portugal the most followed teams on social media

With 41.5 million followers on its Instagram, Facebook (Meta), X (ex-Twitter) and TikTok accounts, the French national team has the most followers on the social networks of the 24 teams taking part in UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany, as of 10/06/2024.

The two-time European champions are ahead of England (35.8 million followers), Portugal (24.8 million followers, excluding TikTok account) and Germany (18.2 million followers). These four teams have a combined total of 120.4 million followers, or two-thirds of the total followers of all 24 teams. Along with Italy (14.1 million) and Spain (13.8 million), these six teams are the only ones to have more than 10 million followers.

Half of the teams have more than one million followers. The Czech Republic, Slovenia and Slovakia have the fewest, each with fewer than 500,000.

In total, nearly 180 million people follow the 24 teams. If we add to this total the 36.6 million followers UEFA has on its accounts dedicated to Euro 2024, there are at least 216 million accounts that will be reached by the 17^th edition of the competition through social media.
