This investment comes four months after British businessman Jim Ratcliffe (INEOS) approved the acquisition of a 25% stake in the club in a deal valued at $1.3bn (€1.18bn). The deal includes a $300m (€272m) fund earmarked for future investment at Old Trafford (74,879 capacity).
