Serie A: AC Milan present plans for a 48,000-seat stadium which could open in 2018-19

AC Milan (Serie A TIM) plan to build a stadium with a capacity of 48,000, which they intend to be the club's home ground from the 2018-19 season, announced the club on 01/02/2015.

The club will be partnered in this project by Arup, the British engineering consultancy firm, as well as the Polytechnic Instistute of Milan (via the Faculty of Architecture). AC Milan said designed the project with the "English model", targeting a family clientele and favouring access to the enclosure via public transport. Hotels, restaurants, playgrounds for children and even exhibition spaces for young artists are included in the project plan. AC Milan want to build the structure in the Portello area near Casa Milan, their new club headquarters located north-west of Milan.
