IOC: creation of the Olympic Esports Games to be put to a vote on 23 & 24/07/2024

The International Olympic Committee's executive board will put the creation of the "Olympic Esports Games" to a vote at the 142^nd IOC Session, which will be held ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games from 22 to 24/07/2024, announced the IOC on 14/06/2024.

"The IOC is already in advanced discussions with a potential host, and an announcement can be expected very soon after the last formalities have been finalised," said the IOC. The proposed dates and games are not yet known.

"At the IOC executive board meeting today (14/06/2024), it was highlighted that such organisation must happen under a completely new dedicated structure within the IOC, clearly separated from the organisational and financial model for the Olympic Games. Nevertheless, the IOC executive board emphasised that IFs already engaged in an e-version of their sport that is considered for inclusion in the 'Olympic Esports Games' would be the IOC's first go-to partners.
