FFF/Aix-Marseille University: a partnership designed to improve footballers' performance

Aix-Marseille University and the Fédération Française de Football (FFF) Research Centre have signed a partnership aimed at improving the sporting performance of football players, announced Éric Berton, president of Aix-Marseille University, and Hubert Fournier, national technical director at the FFF, on 12/06/2024.

The first agreement between the FFF Research Centre and a public higher education establishment, this three-year agreement aims to optimise football performance through the reciprocal provision of infrastructure, the use of the multidisciplinary scientific skills of the Institut des Sciences du Mouvement (Institute of Movement Sciences, ISM) and the Research Centre's football-related skills.

The agreement covers areas such as new technologies for football performance and learning, performance analysis, health and well-being.

Thanks to its five technological platforms, the ISM Étienne-Jules Marey, which is attached to Aix-Marseille University and the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), is equipped with high-tech equipment for analysing movement, as well as…
