Real Betis Balompié: Estadio Benito Villamarín renovation project received

Real Betis Balompié (LALIGA EA Sports) has received the project to renovate the Estadio Benito Villamarín (Seville, ESP) from Spanish architect Rafael de la-Hoz, announced the club on 18/06/2024. The architect, accompanied by the American studio Gensler, was chosen by the club on 17/08/2023 from seven finalists in an architectural competition.

The project, which is due to begin in January 2025 and take two years to complete, at an estimated total cost of between €85m and €100m, includes:
• modernising the external façade;
• demolishing and rebuilding the Preferencia stand (which will be increased to 15,745 seats, including 11,533 normal seats, 4,023 premium seats and 180 in the presidential box);
• increasing the number of PRM seats (500);
• covering the stands with a roof equipped with a rainwater recovery system;
• the installation of new scoreboards;
• the creation of new car parks and three catering and hospitality areas;
• a tripling of the number of VIP seats, from 1,200 to 3,700;
• an extension to the club shop and museum;
• the creation of a 450-seat auditorium.
