FIFA: Social Media Protection Service available for the 211 member associations

"FIFA's Social Media Protection Service (SMPS, which went live during the first part of 2024) is now available to all 211 FIFA member associations (MAs) and their teams," announced the world body on the occasion of the International Day for Countering Hate Speech, on 18/06/2024.

The service, "which is part of FIFA's No Discrimination campaign, s available to MAs even outside of FIFA competitions, and a number of teams competing at UEFA EURO 2024 and the CONMEBOL Copa América 2024 have joined the SMPS," explained FIFA.

"Hate speech and abusive content on social media can have a significant impact on players, affecting mental health, performance and their friends and families. FIFA's priority is to protect players and make football a safe space," added the international federation.
