England: English federation announces support for Ali Bin Al Hussein for FIFA presidency

The FA (English Football Association) has formally nominated the Jordanian Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein for the presidency of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), the FA announced on 30/01/2015, adding that the was matter discussed at the FA board meeting on 29/01/2015.

"The board discussed the upcoming FIFA presidency election and the welcome proliferation of candidates in the race. We agreed to formally nominate Prince Ali of the Jordanian FA, but also noted the encouraging reform message being offered by Michael Van Praag (NED)," stated Greg Dyke, the FA chairman, on 30/01/2015.

  • "We will now await FIFA’s final confirmation of the candidates and look forward to assessing the manifestos of all who are entered into the 29/05/2015 election.
