Paris 2024: "A very special Olympic Day on 23/06/2024" (Thomas Bach, IOC president)

"This year's Olympic Day is a very special one, taking place just ahead of Paris 2024. The celebrations will set the tone for some exceptional Olympic Games in the City of Light this summer. The athletes, the fans, the entire Olympic community - all of us - are looking forward to Paris 2024: more inclusive, more urban, more sustainable. The very first Olympic Games with full gender parity. The very first Olympic Games aligned with the reforms of Olympic Agenda from start to finish," said Thomas Bach, president of the IOC, on 21/06/2024, two days before Olympic Day, which was held in Paris and around the world on 23/06/2024.

The IOC took advantage of the event to roll out its "Let's Move and Celebrate" initiative in collaboration with the World Health Organisation to "encourage people to embrace the joy of movement this summer... Fans should move in their own way, and then upload their moves and share them with the world on social media platforms, and tag @Olympics and #LetsMove," said the body.
