NHL: hockey league partners with GoPro and will attach cameras to players' helmets

The NHL (National Hockey League, USA-CAN) has signed a partnership with GoPro, the American manufacturer of portable and mini cameras, in order to bring the game to life for its fans, via cameras mounted on the helmets of players, announced the league on 23/01/2015.

This partnership also includes brand visibility through the official broadcasters of the NHL and on the league's digital platforms. GoPro has also become a partner of the NHLPA (National Hockey League Players' Association).

  • The GoPro image capture system was used during the All-Star Weekend (24 and 25/01/2015 in Columbus, Ohio - USA) and will now be present at national and regional games, said the league on 23/01/2015.
  • The images recorded by the cameras will be transmitted live on the television channels that broadcast the games, as well as on social networking platforms, websites and the YouTube channels of the NHL, NHLPA and GoPro.
