Los Angeles 2028: an updated plan for Olympic & Paralympic venues with $156m in savings

The organisers of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games have presented an updated venue plan that will generate $156m (€145m) "in combined savings and revenue increases," they announced on 21/06/2024.

LA28 will use more existing stadiums and fewer temporary venues which will "deliver more sustainable solutions" and leave a legacy for the city of Los Angeles, California.

"LA28's venue moves and reliance on existing stadiums enhances the field of play and warm up areas for athletes and improves seating, hospitality, services and capacity for more fans," said the organisers. Another advantage: The competitions will be "in the hands of experienced venue operators and staff to ensure smooth delivery and operations."
