RCD Espanyol: stadium naming agreement with Stage Front (2023-2028) terminated for "non-payment"

RCD Espanyol "have initiated legal action against Stage Front for non-payment and breach of contract, and have terminated the naming rights agreement for the club's stadium," announced the club, which was promoted to the LALIGA EA Sports for the 2024-25 season on 01/07/2024.

In March 2023, the American company specialising in ticketing solutions acquired the naming rights to the RCDE Stadium (El Prat, ESP), where the club has played since the 2009-10 season. The agreement, under which the 45,000-seat stadium was renamed the Stage Front Stadium, was initially for a five-year period (2023-2028) and was worth a total of €10 million, according to the Spanish press.

"Despite the club's efforts to collaborate with Stage Front on the growth of their project, as we have done with all our sponsors for many seasons, a lack of compliance with contractual obligations on the part of Stage Front has led to the decision to terminate the agreement.
