Italy/FIGC: Gabriele Gravina, president of the Federation, announces early elections for 04/11/2024

Gabriele Gravina, president of the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio, has called an elective assembly at the Hilton Rome Airport hotel in Fiumicino (ITA) on 04/11/2024, announced the FIGC on 01/07/2024.

While the mandate of Gabriele Gravina, who was first elected in October 2018 before being re-elected in February 2021, runs until March 2025, he previously announced his intention to call for early elections following the Italian national team's defeat to Switzerland (0-2) in the Round of 16 of Euro 2024, on 29/06/2024.

This decision also comes as Gabriele Gravina's name appears - among dozens of others - in the vast politico-judicial scandal of the "dossieraggio" (secret files) which broke out in Italy following an investigation by the Perugia Public Prosecutor's Office (Umbria, ITA) into illicit consultations of the databases of the Italian National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor's Office.
