Super Bowl 2015: 114.4 million viewers, a record audience for American television

The 49th edition of the Super Bowl, the final of the NFL (National Football League, US League of American Football), broadcast on 01/02/2015 in the United States by NBC, was watched by 114.4 million viewers on average during the match, making it the most watched program in the history of American television, according to figures released by the American ratings measuring agency Nielsen, on the 02/02/2015.

This figure means that 36.2% of the US population watched the game (the population of the United States in 2013: 316.1 million). This represents an increase of between 2 and 2.6% compared to the then record audience of the 2014 Super Bowl (average audience of 111.5 or 112.2 million viewers according to sources), which was aired on Fox (peak audience of 115.3 million viewers during the half-time show).
