CMA CGM: Nicolas de Tavernost, vice-president of CMA Médias, appointed interim CEO of Altice Media

Nicolas de Tavernost (73), vice-presdient of CMA Médias since May 2024, has also been appointed interim CEO of Altice Media, announced the shipping company CMA CGM on 02/07/2024. He replaces Arthur Dreyfuss, CEO of Altice Media since January 2021.

This announcement comes after CMA CGM completed the takeover of Altice Media on 02/07/2024, following the approval of the transaction by the French Competition Authority and Arcom at the end of June 2024. CMA CGM and its holding company Merit France had entered into "exclusive negotiations" with Altice France for the acquisition of 100% of its subsidiary on 15/03/2024. The transaction values Altice Media at €1.55bn. CMA CGM thus acquires 80% of Altice Media, while Merit France obtains 20% of the capital. This acquisition involves several of the Altice group's television and radio brands: RMC Story, RMC Découverte, BFM TV, the BFM local channels (free DTT channels) as well as the radio services BFM Business, BFM Radio and RMC Info Talk Sport. The pay-TV group RMC Sport will continue to be owned by Altice France.
