Euro 2024: 26.13 million viewers for Spain - Germany on ARD & over 8.2 million on RTVE

The Euro 2024 quarter-final between Spain and Germany (2-1 after extra time) drew an average audience of 26.13 million viewers on the German public TV channel Das Erste (ARD) on Friday 05/07/2024 (kick-off at 18:00 CET), according to data from the audience measurement institute AGF.

This figure represented an audience share of 80.9%. The match was also broadcast on Magenta TV (Deutsche Telekom), whose audience figures were not communicated. This is a record audience for all channels combined since June 2021 in Germany. The England - Germany match (2-0), in the Round of 16 of Euro 2020, drew an average of 27.36 million viewers on Das Erste on Tuesday 29/06/2021 (kick-off at 18:00 CET). Audience share: 76.5% (AGF data).

In Spain, the match drew an average of 8.28 million viewers during normal time and 9.22 million in extra time on the public TV channel La 1 (RTVE), according to data from the audience measurement institute Kantar. Audience shares: 67.9% and 71.8% respectively.
