European Top 5: 319 million additional followers on social media for the 96 clubs in 2023-24

The 96 clubs in the European Top 5 (Ligue 1, Serie A TIM, Premier League, Bundesliga and LALIGA EA Sports) had a total of 2.7 billion followers on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and X on 01/07/2024, 319.5 million more than on 01/08/2023, according to data compiled by News Tank Football. The clubs have an average of approximately 28.3 million followers.

Real Madrid CF, LALIGA EA Sports and Champions League winners in 2023-24, is the club with the most followers with 383.8 million, ahead of FC Barcelona (325.2 million, LALIGA EA Sports) and Manchester United FC (210.8 million, Premier League).

In absolute terms, Real Madrid recorded the most new followers over the year (+43.6 million), while FC Barcelona (+22.1 million) and Manchester City FC (+22.1 million) complete the podium.

Getafe CF (LALIGA EA Sports) experienced the biggest percentage growth, with a 149.9% increase in their total number of followers, ahead of five other Spanish clubs, starting with UD Las Palmas (145.7%) and Cádiz CF (120.4%).
