Nottingham Forest FC: women's pro team from 2025-26 & 11 matches at The City Ground from 2024-25

Nottingham Forest FC (Premier League) will complete the process of professionalising its women's team (which plays in England's third division) by the start of the 2025-26 season, announced the club on 09/07/2024.

The initiative is being driven by Greek owner Evangelos Marinakis, who has pledged "major investment in women's sport". The project is intended to create a "full-time model to target the Championship then Barclays Women's Super League for Forest Women."

As part of this professionalisation, several decisions are being applied from the 2024-25 season:
• "Forest Women's first team will comprise of 18 full-time professional players and a small number of part-time players as the club transitions to a fully professional squad by 2025";
• The 11 matches of the FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division will be played at The City Ground (30,445 capacity), the home stadium of the club's men's team;
• "Major investment in medical, training facilities and support services for women's team";
