FC Barcelona: 532 entries in contest to write lyrics for the club's 125^th anniversary anthem

FC Barcelona (LALIGA EA Sports) have received 532 entries for its "Premi Cant del 125 Aniversari" initiative, a contest encouraging supporters to write the lyrics of the anthem celebrating the club's 125^th anniversary, announced Barça on 08/07/2024.

From these 532 submissions, the three best will be selected by a jury over the summer, and will each receive €6,000 in prize money. The three chosen entries "will be set to music and produced by renowned music industry professionals," said the club. "The process will culminate in a public vote to choose the piece that will be FC Barcelona's 125^th anniversary song."

Barça has been playing its home games at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís-Companys (50,112 capacity) in Montjuïc (Barcelona, ESP) since the 2023-24 season and the start of renovation and extension work on the Spotify Camp Nou (capacity increased from 99,354 to 105,000). The club is due to return to its stadium in November 2024 with a 70% capacity, in order to celebrate its 125^th anniversary on 29/11/2024.
