Paris 2024: 8.6 million tickets sold for the Olympic Games, breaking the 1996 Atlanta Games record

"8.6 million tickets sold for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games! The Atlanta 1996 sales record (8.3 million) has now been surpassed," said Tony Estanguet, president of the Paris 2024 organising committee, on X, on 12/07/2024.

"We are proud to have already beaten the record set in Atlanta (Georgia, USA), but we can do even better. There are great opportunities at different prices for the Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games, and the opening and closing ceremonies," said the executive to the AFP on 11/07/2024.

The Paris 2024 organising committee, which will market a total of 10 million tickets for the Olympic Games (including 8 million for the general public), will continue to put tickets on sale every Thursday until 25/07/2024, the day before the opening ceremony on the Seine.

6.8 million tickets were sold between the opening of the ticketing platform on 15/02/2023 (sale of custom packs) and the end of the second sales phase on 23/05/2023 (sale of individual tickets). 1.6 million of these were sold to stakeholders, local authorities, the sports movement (French and International Federations…
