Ligue 1 TV rights (2024-2029): LFP approves DAZN-beIN duo for €500m/season

The LFP board of directors unanimously approved on 14/07/2024 the award of domestic broadcasting rights for the Ligue 1 McDonald's to the OTT sports platform DAZN and the pay-TV group beIN SPORTS France for the 2024-2029 cycle (five seasons), according to the French sports daily L'Équipe the same day.

The two groups will obtain these rights for an estimated €500m a year. DAZN will broadcast eight Ligue 1 games per matchday (€400m per year, with the rights to near-live clips), while beIN will broadcast one game each matchday (€100m, top fixture or 2nd choice every other week, excluding the Top 10), according to L'Équipe, which also reported that the Ligue is currently negotiating an exit clause with the broadcasters after two or three seasons.

DAZN had expressed its interest in the 2024-2029 TV rights to Ligue 1 to the LFP on several occasions, submitting a bid of €500m (full rights) at the end of 2023, a bid of €400m in May 2024 (full rights) and a final bid of €375m per year (eight games per matchday) at the beginning of July 2024, all of which were turned down by the LFP, according…
