TV rights: DAZN now domestic broadcaster of 4 national leagues in the European Top 5

France is preparing to welcome a new player to broadcast Ligue 1 McDonald's matches over the 2024-2029 cycle (five seasons). DAZN is to become the new major broadcaster of the French top flight. The LFP's board of directors approved the award of domestic broadcasting rights for Ligue 1 to the British streaming service and pay-TV group beIN SPORTS France on 14/07/2024.

DAZN will broadcast eight games per matchday on an exclusive basis, while beIN will broadcast one game per matchday (top fixture or 2nd choice every other week, excluding the Top 10). The two groups will pay an average of €500m per season to broadcast matches from the top flight. Negotiations are still underway on the matches that could be broadcast by beIN and on an exit clause between the LFP and the broadcasters after two or three seasons, according to RMC Sport.
