The 20 clubs in the Barclays Premier League have a combined total of nearly 200 million fans (199,955,000) on the social network Facebook, which is the highest total of the five major European leagues, according to figures gathered by News Tank on 04/02/2015.

With 64.8 million fans, Manchester United is the most followed English club ahead of Chelsea (40.9 million) and Arsenal (32.3 million). The official Facebook account of the league, "Barclays Football", has 3.36 million fans.

Barclays Premier League: almost 10 million fans per club on average

  • With nearly 10 million fans per club, the Premier League average is slightly lower than that of the Liga BBVA (Spanish first division) that, largely due to FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, have 10.1 million fans on average, provided only the 18 clubs who have official Facebook page are taken into account (Getafe and Rayo Vallecano do not have an official Facebook page).
  • 10 out of 20 clubs in the Premier League have more than a million fans on Facebook.
