Ligue 1 TV rights: France Télévisions to show a weekday magazine for €1m/year from 2024-25 (press)

The French public broadcasting group France Télévisions is to acquire the rights to broadcast a daily Ligue 1 McDonald's magazine (TV programme) from Monday to Friday from the 2024-25 season, according to L'Équipe on 16/07/2024.

The group would pay €1m a year to broadcast the four-minute daily magazine, according to L'Équipe, which added that the private free-TV group TF1 has also reportedly made an offer of €1m a year for the Sunday morning Ligue 1 magazine. The group broadcast highlights of Premier League matches in its weekly magazine Téléfoot over the 2021-2024 cycle as part of a sub-licensing agreement with the US e-commerce group Amazon (broadcaster of 85% of Ligue 1 matches, including 80% on an exclusive basis for €250m per season over the same period).

The OTT sports platform DAZN and pay-TV group beIN SPORTS France have acquired the domestic TV rights to the Ligue 1 McDonald's for the 2024-2029 cycle (five seasons).
