Twitter: the top 5 European leagues have a combined total of 78.3 million followers (on 04/02/2015)

The clubs of the five major European leagues (Barclays Premier League, Bundesliga, Liga BBVA, Serie A TIM, Ligue 1) have a combined total of 78.3 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to figures released by News Tank on 04/02/2015.

The Spanish league comes out top with 33.3 million followers, largely due to Real Madrid (14.7 million followers) and FC Barcelona (14 million followers), which are by far the two most active clubs in Europe on Twitter (between them, they represent 36.6% of the total of clubs in the 5 major leagues).
