United States: CBS acquires broadcasting rights to EFL competitions for the 2024-2028 cycle

The American broadcasting group CBS (Paramount Global) has acquired exclusive broadcasting rights in the United States for English Football League competitions over the 2024-2028 cycle, announced the EFL on 18/07/2024.

CBS will broadcast each season on CBS Sports channels and the Paramount+ streaming platform:
• 155 minimum Sky Bet Championship matches;
• A minimum of 38 Sky Bet League One and Sky Bet League Two matches;
• All 15 play-off matches;
• A minimum of 30 Carabao Cup matches;
• Three Bristol Street Motors Trophy matches.

"CBS Sports can select further matches for broadcast, no later than two weeks out, with EFL clubs able to stream remaining fixtures for international fans," according to the body. The rights to broadcast EFL competitions were previously held by the pay-TV group ESPN (The Walt Disney Company) in the United States.
