UEFA: launch of the bidding process to host UEFA Women's Euro 2029, decision in December 2025

UEFA has launched its bidding process for the organisation of the Women's Euro 2029, which will end with the designation of the host country or countries in December 2025, announced the European confederation on 23/07/2024.

UEFA's 55 member associations have until 24/09/2024 to send in their declarations of interest in hosting the competition, which will bring together 16 national teams in the final phase, as was the case for Euro 2025 (held in Switzerland) and Euro 2021 (held in England in 2022). Joint bids are permitted, provided that the countries are geographically close.

To respond to the call for bids, bidders must have eight stadiums, with the following four criteria:
• a stadium with a capacity of at least 50,000;
• three stadiums with a capacity of at least 30,000;
• four stadiums with a capacity of 20,000 or more;
• that all these stadiums be natural grass.

• If only one country bids, its team will automatically qualify for Euro 2029. However, in the case of a joint bid, a maximum of two teams will be guaranteed direct participation in the tournament.
