City Football Group: a strategic partnership with Sony Pictures Television to develop TV projects

City Football Group, a holding company invested in football assets (professional clubs, infrastructure, innovation) and the American television production and distribution company Sony Pictures Television, have entered into a new strategic partnership, "which will see the companies co-develop and produce new original scripted, nonfiction, and kids' television projects for worldwide audiences," announced CFG on 23/07/2024.

"The initiative will combine CFG's global network, expertise in sport and access to football talent, facilities and the group's own media creative production unit, 'City Studios' with SPT's globally acclaimed production legacy. Projects developed as part of the collaboration to include stories related directly to CFG and its clubs and players, as well as the creation of projects inspired by football, or where football is the central theme or plotline," said the owner of Manchester City FC (Premier League), which will produce "scripted and unscripted series" and "one-off documentaries" as well as animations and children's programmes.
