NBA: Amazon acquires broadcasting rights for several markets including France for 2025-2036

The American e-commerce group Amazon has acquired the rights to broadcast the NBA in several international territories, including France, over the 2025-2036 cycle, announced the North American league on 24/07/2024.

The contract with the pay-TV group beIN SPORTS France, which has broadcast the NBA in France since 2012, expires at the end of the 2023-24 season. No broadcaster has yet acquired the NBA broadcasting rights for the 2024-25 season in France.

This acquisition is part of the agreement concluded by the league for the NBA's domestic media rights with Amazon and the American groups The Walt Disney Company (owner of the ESPN group) and NBCUniversal over the same 2025-2036 period (see below). Amazon has acquired the media rights to 66 regular season games per season, as well as the Emirates NBA Cup (quarter-finals, semi-finals and final), the SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament games, a third of the play-off games in the first two rounds and one of the two series in the conference finals (six years out of eleven, alternating with NBC from 2026-27).
