RB Leipzig: "We're growing as a club but we're also growing as a brand" (Johann Plenge)

"The 2024 summer tour to the United States is the next step in our development. We started 15 years ago in the 5^th division and the club just keeps growing. We managed to establish ourselves as a top European club. We're growing as a club but we're also growing as a brand, with increasingly more fans abroad. In addition, being present internationally is the expectations of our various stakeholders, e.g. sponsors, fans, media partners and the DFL," said Johann Plenge, member of the board of directors and chief business officer at RB Leipzig (Bundesliga), to News Tank Football on 29/07/2024.

"From the outside, football is maybe not the most thrilling sport, when it comes to innovative approaches. But one of our goals is to replicate the Red Bull approaches in the football universe. In the future, our competitors will not solely be the other football clubs, but for example NBA and NFL clubs, other sports brands and other big media companies," said Plenge.
