FIFA: bids received for the 2030 (MAR/POR/ESP) & 2034 (KSA) World Cups

The Moroccan (FRMF), Portuguese (FPF) and Spanish (RFEF) football federations have officially submitted their joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup, with the Saudi Arabian federation (SAFF) following suit for the 2034 World Cup, according to FIFA, which welcomed representatives of these member associations to Paris (FRA) on 29/07/2024. Each of the two bids is the only one in the running.

The presidents of CONMEBOL and the Argentinian (AFA), Paraguayan (APF) and Uruguayan (AUF) federations were also present in France, as each of the latter three associations would like to host a match at the 2030 World Cup to celebrate the 100^th anniversary of the very first FIFA World Cup, played in Uruguay in 1930 (the 18 matches took place in three stadiums in Montevideo, with Uruguay beating Argentina 4-2 in the final), in agreement with the FRMF, FPF and RFEF. Six countries on three different continents are thus set to host the 2030 edition, a first in the history of the competition.
