IOC: Alibaba (e-commerce, CHN) official partner of the Athlete365 Business Accelerator

Alibaba Group has extended its partnership with the IOC to become "the first global partner" of the body ("Top" marketing programme) to support the fourth edition of the Athlete365 Business Accelerator programme, announced the Chinese e-commerce group on 31/07/2024.

The Athlete365 Business Accelerator programme is an IOC-led business incubator that aims to provide "current and former professional athletes with the skills needed to create and manage their own businesses and career-transition opportunities."

"Alibaba's recent research reveals that nearly two-thirds (63%) of former athletes struggle to find a new career after sport. Although 76% of them believe they have transferable skills applicable in entrepreneurship, only just over half (52%) currently run their own business," added the Chinese group, a Top partner of the IOC since 2017 (until 2028).

Alibaba will therefore develop a training programme focusing on e-commerce and international trade, aiming to improve participants' knowledge in areas such as the use of AI tools, global sourcing and BtoB exporting via marketplaces…
