VfB Stuttgart: president Claus Vogt dismissed, vice president Rainer Adrion resigns

The annual general meeting of VfB Stuttgart 1893 eV, the association on which VfB Stuttgart (Bundesliga) is based, has dismissed Claus Vogt, its president since December 2019, by adopting a motion to this effect, which received 86.03% of the votes of the 2,000 or so members present, according to the club on 28/07/2024. The decision was taken with immediate effect.

The same members also voted by a majority to dismiss vice president Rainer Adrion, however the 70.02% of votes cast were not enough to ratify the decision (75% of votes were required under the statues). However, following the vote against him, Rainer Adrion announced his resignation, which was officially submitted the following day.

The departure of the two directors can be explained by the arrival of Porsche (part of the Volkswagen group) in the capital of VfB Stuttgart 1893 AG, the club's commercial company, in June 2023 (see below) and its consequences for the governance of the club, according to German media.
