AC Milan: an "innovative maternity policy" for the club's female players & employees

AC Milan (Serie A Enilive) has become "the first European football club" to guarantee the renewal of the professional contracts of its female players, on the same salary terms, in the event of pregnancy during the final season of their contract, announced the club on 02/08/2024.

The club unveiled "an innovative maternity policy for its players and staff, formally ensuring a series of protections during pregnancy and early childhood that go beyond current regulation", which includes:
• help with childcare during players' practice time;
• financial support for flights, accommodation and other travel costs for players, their children and their partners;
• guarantees relating to pregnancy, compulsory remuneration and return to work, in accordance with FIFA guidelines, AIC collective agreements and the club's internal regulations;
• the provision of health professionals for players in the fields of psycho-pedagogically, physiotherapy, and nutrition.
