RB Leipzig: a live bodycam & drone footage used for a friendly versus Aston Villa FC in the USA

RB Leipzig (Bundesliga) used a drone and a bodycam placed on its player Kevin Kampl to provide live footage during the club's friendly (2-0 win) versus Aston Villa FC (Premier League) on Thursday 01/08/2024.

"Our friendly match against Aston Villa at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey wasn't just a success on the pitch. We also were able to show off some innovative tools as part of the broadcast, with the likes of Kevin Kampl and Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers wearing a body cam during the game. There was also a brand-new perspective for fans thanks to a so-called FPV drone that hovered just a few meters above the players. It was the premiere for the technology, with no drone having flown closer to the action during a professional soccer match," said the German club.

RB Leipzig played its first summer tour outside Europe in the United States from Sunday 28/07 to Sunday 04/08/2024.
