2034 World Cup: Saudi Arabia plans for 11 new stadiums (of a total of 15) in 5 host cities

15 stadiums, including 11 new ones, spread across five host cities, with eight stadiums in the capital Riyadh, will host the 2034 World Cup according to Saudi Arabia's bid book published by FIFA on 31/07/2024. The International Federation officially received Saudi Arabia's application at a ceremony held on 29/07/2024 in Paris (FRA) in conjunction with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Saudi Arabia's bid, which features the slogan "Growing. Together." (has four existing stadiums, three under construction and eight planned. The opening match and the final of the competition are scheduled to take place at the future King Salman Stadium in Riyadh, which is expected to have a capacity of 92,000.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) has been without a rival to host the 2034 World Cup since Football Australia withdrew its bid on 31/10/2023. The SAFF had publicly indicated its intention to organise the 2024 event on 04/10/2023. The final decision on the host country(ies) for the 2030 and 2034 World Cups will be taken by a vote of the FIFA Congress on 11/12/2024.
