England: Allianz title sponsor of Twickenham Stadium, which will become Allianz Stadium from 2024

Allianz, a German insurance company, has acquired the naming rights to Twickenham Stadium (82,000 capacity) from the Rugby Football Union. The stadium will be known as Allianz Stadium from 01/09/2024, announced the RFU on 05/08/2024. This is the first time that the stadium, which was built in south-west London in 1907 and opened in 1909, has changed its name.

As part of this multi-year partnership, Allianz plans to make a "significant, long-term investment" in English rugby, which has seen three professional clubs (London Irish, Wasps and Worcester Warriors) go into administration since 2022. The insurance company and the RFU are also launching the Allianz Future Fund, a fund designed to offer financial support to amateur rugby clubs.
