Liga BBVA: "It is possible that our name is added to Camp Nou" (A. Al-Baker, Qatar Airways)

"Everything is a possibility for our company, we’re open to surprises and one of these could be connected to the name of Camp Nou. Qatar Airways and Barcelona have the same values. It is possible that our name is added to Camp Nou" said Akbar Al Baker, executive director of Qatar Airways, on 04/02/2015.

Akbar Al-Baker was speaking at the presentation of the company's new advert celebrating the third season in partnership with the Catalan club. The video clip stars five key players of FC Barcelona (Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., Andres Iniesta, Gerard Piqué and Luis Suarez) who perform tricks in many destinations offered by the airline (see below).

FC Barcelona's 'socios' approved the urban project "Nou Espai Barça", which includes the renovation of the Camp Nou at a cost of €600m, on 05/04/2014. The new Camp Nou will have a capacity of 105,000 covered seats, against 99,350 seats currently. Work is expected to begin in May 2017 and will be completed in February 2021. The club is seeking €150m for the naming rights to the stadium in order to finance its renovation.
