Los Angeles 2028: Autodesk (software) partner for the design of competition venues for the Olympics

US software company Autodesk has become the fourth "official supporter" (5^th level) of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games, announced the organising committee on 06/08/2024.

"Over the next four years, Autodesk's software will support LA28's more than $1bn (€920m) temporary overlay and construction plan, incorporating sustainable design principles," said the organisers. On 21/06/2024, the organisers unveiled an updated Olympic and Paralympic Venue Plan that will generate $156m (€145m) in new revenue or cost savings, based on the use of more existing infrastructure. No new permanent venues will be built to host the Games.

The American group will be involved in the renovation of "40+ competition and major non-competition venues across Southern California that will make up the LA28 Games' footprint - including the LA Memorial Coliseum (77,500 capacity). Autodesk software will be critical in enabling this, with its technology helping to shorten timelines, cut costs, and incorporate sustainable design principles across the project," explained the Organising Committee…
