Denmark: IMG will be the international distributor of TV rights to the Alka Superliga until 2021

The media rights and marketing agency IMG extended its existing global media rights distribution contract for the Alka Superliga, the Danish first division, for six years on 06/02/2015. IMG began being the distributor for the Danish league's audiovisual rights in 2009-10 and had renewed its contract for three seasons on 25/05/2012, until the end of the 2014-15 season.

As well as the Alka Superliga, the new contract for 2015-2021 also includes, for the first time, the international distribution of media rights to the Danish 2nd division, the Nordic Bet Liga 1-Division, as well as the Danish Cup domestic club knockout competition.

  • Founded in 1991, the Superliga has 12 teams, who play each other three times during the season, which runs from July to June of the following year.
    • The season stops from early December to late February.
    • The first 2015 matchday of the Alka Superliga 2014-15 is scheduled from 20 to 23/02/2015.
